Basis Weight Sensor

Close-up of the Tapio Caliper sensor measuring the thickness of a paper sheet as it passes between two black sensor modules.

Caliper Sensor

Tapio Gloss Sensor measuring gloss on both sides of a paper sheet with a 75° angle.

Gloss Sensor

Tapio Ash Sensor measuring filler content in coated paper using low-energy gamma radiation.

Ash Sensor

Tapio Transmission Sensor analyzing optical transmission properties of paper.

Transmission Sensor

Tapio Remission Sensor measuring brightness variations in paper with a 0.3 mm aperture.

Remission / Brightness Sensor

Tapio Porosity Sensor measuring air permeability of paper according to standard methods.

Porosity Sensor

The analyzer can be equipped with up to 16 sensors, allowing the measurement to be easily supplemented with custom sensors. The measurement interface allows both voltage and current signaling. Since all sensors measure the same physical point in paper, the density, bulk, relative ash and optical formation channels can be automatically calculated from measured data.
